We need a taxi for a midnight ride from the queen alia airport in the down town area of amman. I read the price is fixed. What is the actual price? What is your experience?

http://www.jordanjubilee.com/visitjor/faqs.htm#airport%20to%20Amman, the prices are a little older so add some to them, but when you're out of the terminal there hangs a list with the actuall prices.

The charge is around 25 JOD / 35 USD for the airport taxi (beige colored cars) and they're always available and should be safe too, around 45 minutes ride.
From the city back to the airport you can take any normal-yellow taxi for around JOD 20.

Good luck.

I got the bus to Tarbarbour Station and then taxied from there to DOwntown for 3JD. The bus leaves every hour from the airport. Be careful, the taxi drivers claim to never have any change so make sure you have some 5 JD / 1JD notes!
