Hi guys,

Next week I am going to Jordan for a few days with 2 friends of mine.
We plan on diving in Aqaba and I want to know if there's any problem getting there on Saturday or Sunday?

After the dives we plan on taking a tour with a jeep in Wadi rum. I heard It's possible to take a tour with a guide for a 5-6 hours in order to see the big attractions, is it true? How much is it supposed to cost for 3 guys?

We also plan to see petra. We want to stay there for 2 days. Please give me some recommended places to stay there over night.

Thanks,
Hen

Welcome, You will have no problem getting to Aqaba, although you don't say where from.

I recommend you visit the web site www.jordanjubilee.com for information about traveling throughout Jordan and recommendation to guides in Wadi Rum and hotels in Wadi Musa (Petra).

I have stayed at the Cleopetra in Wadi Musa and can recommend that one.

Good luck.

#1- you will have no problems getting into Aqaba Saturday or Sunday. Outside of Amman, traffic in Jordan is sparse.

#2- Wadi Rum- well worth the visit. You can negotiate the guides rate.

#3-- If you go to Wadi Musa, I HIGHLY recommend the Shara Mountains Hostel. The owner is a complete HOOT-

I wrote up part of the little adventure I had with him here. (for more read on in the blog about Petra/ Aqaba)

Petra is perhaps the most exquisite man made site I have seen, surpassing the pyramids of Giza. You will NOT be disappointed! Have fun!
