Prices of oil, petrol, gas etc have been increased
with effect from today.
This will have a knock on effect to visitors using transport
and other tourist services and they should budjet accordingly
maybe as much as fifty percent more.

I just paid the bill for diesel fuel that is used for central heating and hot water in the apartment .It realy hurts.cos i wasnt aware how high prices are already.I dont know how the poor peole will cope with these prices.A few years ago there was riot in the streets when the Gov. increased prices of bread .I think cost of living in Jordan is catching up with that of its neighbour Israel.

Great news for the taxi gangsters, who will now scream even louder: "No misterrr, really price seven JD from Abdoun to Shmeisani!"

Interestingly, the "customers" who get hit hardest (+ 110%) are electricity-generating power stations. That may result in massively higher electricity bills for consumers. Bad news if you have electric heating and a typical Amman flat, where 95% of the warm air disappears through cracks and gaps in walls and windows immediately.
I wonder what that will mean for Royal Jordanian air tickets. Or is aviation fuel governed by a totally separate price regime?
