Jordan Artist Tours (www.jordanartisttours.com) is the company I used for the trip I just came back from. I'm a single woman and did my first trip to the middle east. I am amazed by the service and hospitality I received from the people. I was treated as if I was one of the family. The head guide turns out to be the owner of the company and is a very well respected member of the community in the Petra area. The company went above and beyond for me and catered to any changes I wanted while I was there. My experiences were off the beaten path and I got to experience the non-tourist aspects of Jordan. this country and people mesmorized me and have made many contacts and friends for life. the guides name is Mr. Abdelazeez Hasanaat and please PM for any tips and his contact information. While on our journeys he helped many tourists we picked up along the way and was constantly on the phone helping other members of his community. I was fortunate to have a guide such as him and am even more fortunate to have this friend. by the end of my trip I now refer to him as Abu and not Mr. Hasanaat.

Steven and I also used Jordan Artist Tours for our trip to Jordan on Nov 2008. Our guide was also Abdelazeez. (Abu). I would definitely recommend this tour company. Steven and I have been traveling the world together for many years and this was one of our most interesting trips. And Abdelazeez was definitely a big reason for the success of this 7 day journey. Since he is a Bedouin and his family has lived in Petra for generations, he has first hand knowledge of the culture, politics, food, history, architecture, incredible scenery, ect. Some of the highlights of our trip were sleeping in a Bedouin tent with a Bedouin family, sleeping in a cave where Abdelazeez's family used to live, 4 wheel driving and camel riding in the desert, having 2 meals in a Bedouin home with authentic delicious local food, and much much more.

I just booked a trip with Jordan Artist Tours and wondered if you had arranged the camel rides and meals in the Bedouin homes in advance of your arrival ? We would be interested in doing these things and i am wondering if we have to make a specific request in advance.
Thanks for your help!

Hi kbeau,
Which trip itinerary did you book with them? I did the classic trekk and my camel and bedouin dinner was already included. This was actually the first of these "all arranged" type trips I've done and I usually do all of that myself. I was very impressed with them. I would email them and tell them what you want to do in advance just as a precaution. If you need some help with suggestions I can discuss with you and I can also email you my exact itinerary. I'll copy a version of it here. feel free to email me at lor280@gmail.com

kbeau, Also i had such a great time with the team that I ended up staying more in petra and throwing a dinner party for them. I would recommend definately doing the overnight cave sleep in little petra area

Lorliz-thanks much for all your help. We booked a different trip, a bit shorter, so I will ask if we can fit in the camel ride!

No Problem, I hope you have a great time. when are you going? If you do a camel ride on the wadi dana or wadi araba side of the country,
ask him to set it up with Musa. He is a great bedouin guy, not much english but was very kind
