Hey, how are you? I'll be in Egypt and Jordan during June and I was wondering if someone could give me some info about Jordan.
I'm definitely going to Petra and Wadi Rum. Is there any place that I shouldn't miss?

Cheers

M

Hello M,

I was in Jordan last year and simply fell in love with Dana Nature Reserve. If you love hiking (or even only wanto to take a day of rest) that's a place you shouldn't miss. If you go there, I'd recommend that you stay at Dana Guesthouse (and if you decide to do so, book in advance. You might even be so lucky, as I was, to get the only en-suite room! All the others share the bathroom, but even so, a stay there is unforgettable):

I also enjoyed a lot at the Dead Sea. Even though you're not a beach&sea type of person (I'm not), floating in the Dead Sea and having a mud bath are lovely experiences.

According to how much time you have, and according to your interests, you may also add Jerash to your itinerary. Even though I'm from Italy, I have to admit that no Roman ruins have ever impressed me so much as those in Jerash.

Others highlights include Ajlun, the desert castles east of Amman, Mount Nebo (if you're interested in religion and history), Madaba (if you're fond of mosaics), Kerak and its crusaders' fortress, Aqaba (you can snorkel or just take a boat ride)...

Happy travel!

Hi
I am from ordan and again, based on your time ... there are few places you MUST visit in Jordan: Petra (one of the new 7 wonders), the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum (unique experience of desert), a tour in Amman specially the Down Town, and a tour in the Northern Roman cities (Jerash, Um Quais ...). you may want to see Madaba and Mount Nebo .. why not ... Dana is anothe beautiful place .. Aqaba is amazing too .. you won't find more beautiful place to see the red sear more than Aqaba ..
Look at the visitJordan website and check more info .. You may also look at few documantaries and guides .. I recommend that you look at "Jordan - The Royal Tour".. you can find it on youtube in 4 or 5 parts.

Hope you ille joy your visit :)

I agree on Dana, especially if u want to use your legs for some outdoor exercise. And just floating for some time in the Dead Sea is an experience not to be missed.

Definitely don't miss Jerash! I was a classics major and the ruins at Jerash were some of the nicest I have ever seen. Also, it's a super cheap daytrip from Amman: 500 fils minibus to get to Jerash, 8JD for entrance to the site, 500 fills minibus back to Amman.
