Hello travelers,

I just came from a fantastic Bedouin camping experience in Wadi Rum. If you are going to Petra, DO NOT MISS WADI RUM. It is much less touristy and the hospitality of the Beduoins is very genuine and wonderful. I recommend Mohammed Difallah's Beduoin Cave Camp - not only did his family know Lawrence of Arabia, but he is very professional, courteous, and one of the best tour guides in the area. He offers many different hiking, climbing, and camping options at an affordable price. Here is the website: http://bedouincavecamp.com/

Happy trails,
Melanie

We were 7 friends traveling thrilled we had chosen the Bedouin Advisor Camp as it was the highlight of our trip to Jordan. Originally, we were to spend a full day with an overnight but due to the heat at the beginning of July we were a bit worried so we postponed the jeep tour to later in the day. Even though we did not get to see all the destinations the full day tour offers, we still had a great time enjoying the tranquility and beauty of this spectacular desert. We loved sand boarding down the large dune. Drinking tea and watching the sunset was wonderful and the evening meal was absolutely delicious.
The camp area is located within the park and was larger than we had expected and quite clean. The tents are spacious with real beds and clean bedding however we only stored our luggage in them as we opted on sleeping under the stars which we all truly loved. The bathrooms are modern with natural hot showers. The lounging area is quite comfortable and a great place to enjoy hot tea and talk.
We highly recommend Bedouin Advisor Camp in Jordan as it is a great experience with reasonable rates! http://bedouinadvisor.com/

Thanks so much for this recommendation, Melanie! I am definitely booking an overnight cave camp stay with this family for the 27th of September. I will let you know how it goes!

Cheers!
