We are in Eilat and are going to Wadi Musa. I would like to hear from anyone who can tell me what the deal is with finding transport from the border, after you cross into Jordan from Eilat, to Wadi Musa. I think one can get a taxi. If that is the case, what is the cost for two travelers? Thanks - david

Welcome, You have three options and they all cost slightly different prices.

You can get a taxi right at the border crossing. This is the most expensive, but also the most convenient and quickest way to get there. The cost will depend somewhat on your negotiation skills. I've seen posts say around 35 to 40 JD.

Next, you can get a taxi to central Aqaba and negotiate a taxi from there. The advantage is there are more taxis looking for passengers and you might be able to get a better rate (but remember you'll have spent 5 to 7JD already just getting to central Aqaba).

Lastly, you can get a taxi to central Aqaba and take a bus. The bus does not run frequently and I don't know the schedule. This is the least expensive way, but also the least convenient.

Good luck.

I agree with laketraveller.
The cost of a direct taxi from the border seems to rise constantly and you can see that nowadays they demand 60 JD for one way.
The bus from Aqaba would be the cheapest option. There are few direct buses a day and if not or its too long to wait, you can always take a look at the map and get a bus to another place and from there hitchike or find another taxi.

I'll be arriving at Eilat airport at 1:15PM on November 6. I'll head for Petra from Eilat airport. Just wondering if anyone has the same itinerary to share the ride from Eilate to Petra.
