Hi all
Arriving in Jordan at Queen Alia Airport on the 28th of November around 9 -10 Am.
Eid El Adcha is on the 28th November.
Will there be taxis or busses from the airport to Sheik Hussein Bridge on that day or is a holyday that all is closed?
Many Thanks

I guess you'll find taxi's, but it will be less than the usual days, however if you can postpone your trip a few days might save you the headache ;)

As far as I know there are NEVER any buses from the airport to the Bridge. You would always need to take a taxi. The standard fare is supposed to be around 35JD but you would probably be asked for more than that on the Eid. Report first of all to the taxi office, and with a bit of luck you will get a paper with the correct price marded on it.

The closing time at the Jordanian side of the Bridge is something else! It is in fact entirely possible that the border is closed on the Jordanian/Palestinian side on the day of the Eid.

Look on the bright side : the date is not fixed so far in advance - quite possible it might be a day or so either side of the 28th!!! Of course we don't know which.....

OP - if you are really worried about this and it is essential that you be at the Sheik Hussein Bridge on the day that you arrive, check with your airline for a prepaid transfer. The airline you are flying with will have a driver waiting for you at Arrivals with your name on a board. You do not pay the driver money as the airline will have issued you with a voucher. You had the voucher to the driver when you arrive at the Sheik Hussein Bridge. You then simply offer the driver a tip. Whoever the airline has contracted this to are obligated to get you to your destination in the time frame you have requested. Since it is business for the taxi company or individual driver they will ensure they follow through since they will be ‘dropped’ from the airline’s list of preferred drivers. Works every time for me!

Thanks all for your replies.
Postponed arrival to 30th Nov.so hopefully will be after the Eid and all back to normal again.
The taxi office is it inside the airport or is there some kind of booth that can book taxi to the bridge?
Many Thanks
