Hi All,

we want to go diving in Aqaba (1 day, 2 dives - either shore or boat, we´ll have to rent equipment). According to the internet, the lowest price we have seen so far for 2 shore dives including equipment rental would be around 120 USD - extremely expensive.

  1. Are there any cheaper options? If so, how can we reach these operators?
  2. Which companies would you recommend us for a safe and nice diving trip?
  3. Which diving spots are the nicest ones around Aqaba?
  4. We also would like to spend 2 days at a beach close to Aqaba. We are two adults and a 3 yr old child. Where should we go to? How much would that cost?

Thanks for your help,

Hi,

  1. Yes, I saw similar prices, I'm afraid.
  2. I have experience with Dive Aqaba and Yazan Alsaed. Yazan does boat dives, Dive Aqaba boat- and shore dives. If you search for them in Google, you can find their contacts.
  3. You can find all the dive sites here: http://tinyurl.com/dhottb Click on Dive Facilities.
  4. The hotels that are on South Beach: Radisson SAS, Marina Plaza, Coral Bay, you can check their prices here: http://tinyurl.com/by4hpg
If you are looking for a cheaper option, check out the hostels at Public Beach Nr 4: Darna Village, Bedouin Garden, Bedouin Moon. Their room prices are around JD 25 with breakfast.

I was in Jordan a couple of weeks ago and was diving with Royal Diving Club - http://www.rdc.jo/ - and found them really professional. I paid 40 JD for 2 dives + 12JD for equipment. if you dive, you dont have to pay entrance fee to the beach (the beach and the RDC are situated in the Coral Bay Hotel)- normally I think it was 8JD
