Hi Everyone - I know this has probably already been discussed somewhere, however I just wanted to clarify crossing from Israel to Jordan via the Allenby/King Hussein Bridge. We are planning to cross on Saturday the 18th August as to my understanding Sun/Mon 19/20th is Eid el Fitr and the crossings will all be closed?

Can anyone advise what time the crossing is open on a Saturday? I know that Saturday is the Jewish Sabbath as well.

In addition, we are planning to go to the dead sea on 19-20th, what can we expect in terms of available transportation (taxi/buses) from King Hussen Bridge? Is there anywhere else anyone would recommend on these two days? (we will have done Petra/Wadi Rum already)

Thanks very much.

Allenby Bridge hours, see here.

It isn't closed on Eid el-Fitr. But it closes early on Saturdays. Palestinian buses/shared taxis run on Saturdays from Jerusalem to the crossing - they are not affected by the Jewish Sabbath.

From the bridge to the Dead Sea there are no direct buses. You can pick up a bus that has come from Beit She'an and is heading towards Jerusalem, and change at the Beit Ha'arava junction for a bus that has come from Jerusalem and is going to the Dead Sea.

Are you returning to Jordan from Israel as if not KHB is the worst choice because you can't get a Jordanian visa there and you'll be in the same queues as everyone who is trying to avoid "Israel stamps"
