I asked this question in an earlier email; does anybody know if it is possible to travel by bus or service taxi from Jerash direct to Damascus, and do you know the cost for each?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I have no direct answer to your question. All I can tell you is what I did:
I came the other way round: From Damascus to Dar'a by bus (cheap). Taxi from there to Ramthar (~3JOD) and then I was stuck (bad bus connections - no direct bus to Jerash, only via Irbid). I was lucky and found a taxi-driver which drove me from Ramthar to Jerash, waited 1,5h and then drove me to Amman for around 15JOD (as far as I remember).

To sum up, it's not too comfortable to travel from Jerash directly to Damascus (maybe better to go back to Amman and then from Amman to Damascus). Although I have to admit that there are probably direct connections by bus or service taxi - I don't know.

Thanks again for your advice. I may need to return to Amman for the connection. I have sent an email to the Jordan Tourism Office in Amman. If they reply confirming that it is possible to travel from Jerash direct then I will leave a message in a new thread.

I have passed through borders that involved more than one form of transport and the experience wasn't too bad. I had more time on those occasions.
