Best way to pick some one up at Jordan's Queen Alia Airport (Amman)?

Hi,

My friend and I will be traveling from Syria to Jordan overland, then picking up a rental car in Amman and heading to Queen Alia airport to pick up my girlfriend, who will be arriving at night around 9pm. Can anyone familiar with the airport give advice about what the best way to meet up is? Will there be an area we can park our car and wait for her or, preferably, to park the car and go inside to baggage claim area to greet her. I'd rather not have her waiting out by the curb alone at night in a foreign country and we may not have access to our phones then.

What do you think is the best way to rendezvous?

Should be no problem. Check out if she arrives on terminal 1 or 2. These are opposite each other, but if you stop at terminal 2 you have to drive quite a bot to get back to 1 since construction work is going on.
There is a car park between the terminals where you can park. If full, one of you can get out to get your friend, while the other one circles around.
All depends on other traffic and the vigilance of cops against double parking at that moment in time.

As henkbos said : park in the bit between the 2 terminals its easy to find it.
Otherwise one wait in the car etc and the other will go into the Arrivals Hall
(not the baggage claim area) and wait her her coming out. There are plenty of
Porters to help her from the baggage if she wants - its free but a 1 JD tip would
not hurt. Amman airport isn't that busy and its easy to find someone because
its small. Just make sure as Henkbos said you wait in the right terminal. Before
the redevelopment started Term 1 was for Royal Jordanian and the Terminal 2 was
for all other flights but I think now they might be using a bit of both. When you arrive
check the screen for arrivals, if you have the wrong terminal no panic the other one is
literally next to it across the road. Allow about 20 minutes from landing to exiting.

Thanx Henkbos and Mesha! but when you arrive to Queen Alia Airport, you should have a quick look at the monitors in order to know which terminal 1 or 2 will have your girlfriend's flight since we have 2 terminals at the airport. Just check out the monitors...
