Hi! My friend and I are planning a trip to Petra, Jordan after graduation this year. We are 21 year old women and we're looking for advice on the best places for university students to visit. We are really interested in the historical sites in Petra, but we also want to know what the night life is like there. Are there any specific spots in Petra that students tend to visit? Is it a popular spot for people our age? Thanks!!
In my experience most students or recent university graduates who head to Petra are going to see Petra. It's fairly popular with people of all ages really. They even let people in without a degree I've heard too. But they probably don't have the education to fully experience it properly.
There may be a Full Moon Party in Wadi Musa sometime soon, but hopefully most people who want that are still stoned off their faces in Thailand.
Wadi Musa (the town you stay when at Petra) is certainly not a party town. There are several restaurants and cafes, but it's not a party 'till you drop kind of place. Hotels also tend to be quite tame as people are getting up early to get to the ruins for sunrise.

I remember the Roof Garden of the Mövenpick hotel being a mildly happening place. For Wadi Musa anyway. Prices are not very student friendly though.
