Dear All,

I just bookend my flight for Amman for the next week end,
I'd like to go to Petra with Jett bus (Friday June 15th) from Amman,
spend the night in a hotel near by Petra site
travel the next day (Saturday June 16th) from Petra to Dead Sea,
spend the day in the dead sea and sleep in a not too expensive hotel nearby and go back to Amman on Sunday June 17th.

Could you raccomand me the best way to do this?
I can't find some busses from Petra to dead sea, I have to take a taxi? Where I can take it?
From Dead Sea to Amman there are many busses during the day?

Thank you very much
Elisabetta

There is no public transport to Dead Sea.
Best way to visit it on a budget is to share a day trip with others. You can do that by staying at an hotel or hostel where they offer transport to Dead Sea.You share cost with other guests.Usually a trip cost around 45 JD for 4 passengers that include other sites on the way like Madaba and Nebo.
From Petra take Jett bus to Amman/your hotel .
Cheers

There are also no budget options for staying over night on the Dead Sea.

What you could do is reverse the order of your sightseeing and go from the airport straight to Madaba (45 min 18 jod by taxi), book yourself in a hotel there (Mariam Hotel has the best choice of trips) and try to pick up people to share your Dead Sea trip. Mariam hotel organises minibus to Petra via Kings Highway and Kerak Castle. Then it would be easy to return from Petra on Jett bus.
