Airport Express from Airport to Amman - what stops does the bus make?

Hello Everyone,

I'm arriving into Jordan at 10pm at Queen Alia Airport, and the next day I'm moving onwards to Wadi Musa (Petra).

Planning to stay overnight in Amman itself, and then pick up a friend at 10 am the next day at the airport, travel back together back to Amman, and then take a minibus from the South Bus station (Wadahat) to Petra in the early afternoon.

For the overnight stay, I'm planning to stay at a location where the Airport Express Bus stops at - so that it would be easy for me to get to the accomodation late at night, and then take the bus to the airport the next morning to pick my friend up, and travel back to the hotel using the Airport Express Bus. We would then take a taxi from the hotel location to the Wadahat Bus Station.

Questions would be then:

1) Which stops does the Airport Express Bus stop at along its way to the end terminus (Tabarbour North Bus Station). I already read that it no longer stops at Abdali Bus Station. If there is any information on this on the internet (which I couldn't find), it would be much appreciated!

2) Based on the stops which the Airport Express Bus makes, is there any accomodation near those stops? As it is only for one night, I would like to pay up to JOD 30 maximum (prefer a private room, not dorms)

The first official stop is at the 7th Circle. After that, I don't know - I have never gone further. The bus also stops anywhere it pleases along the airport highway to pick up or drop off passengers, but none of the locations along that part of the route will be of interest to you. If you have no luggage in the hold, you can usually get off the bus after the 7th Circle but before Tabarbour, e.g. along Zahran Road, depending on the driver's mood and flexibility.

There are some modern, small hotels in Sweifiyeh, walking distance from the 7th Circle, but they are all in the mid-range price class, nothing as cheap as downtown.

If you want to take a taxi from the 7th Circle, avoid the taxis that await the arriving bus. The drivers are some of the worst crooks in Amman. Instead, walk 100 m north to the actual 7th Circle roundabout and wave down any passing cab. Insist that the driver uses the meter.

To get back to the airport, it is easier to take a (waiting) airport bus from the Royal Jordanian City Terminal near the 7th Circle (every hour on the hour) than to hail a (passing) airport bus at the not very well defined 7th Circle bus stop.

Ditto for all the bus stations and border points.. and Abdali... unfortunately.

I will take the express bus to the 7th circle, and then take a taxi to accomodation booked - its just across the King Abdullah Mosque. Think the max cab fare is no more than JOD 2?

We took the airport bus and just happened to see our hotel from the highway and quickly asked the driver to stop, which he did and we got off on the highway! There didn't seem to be planned stops.

Amman accommodations seemed pretty expensive for the quality you got. Fortunately we used hotel points in Amman but I saw a few places that were $60+ per night and they were pretty dreadful and unbelieveably, they were full.
