Hi! I'm arriving in Israel on Friday 25th April and my plane lands at 23:10 at night. Is it already shabbat then? How do I get to Tel Aviv? What kind of effect does the Shabbat have on the train / sherut taxis / other public transportation? Is it possibel to stay at the airport and sleep there until Morning? Do they let people sleep there? Any information would be very much appreciated!!!

A friend and me are traveling to Jordan in november this year. We have 10 day trip planned. We were wondering if it is convenient to secure an israeli visa at amman to visit jerusalem by land border. We are Indian citizens. Any light on how to secure a tourist visa, as well as how mode of travel, to israel for 2 days would be very useful.

I noticed that route 90 is passing just outside of Jericho. I understand that for insurance reasons I should not enter Jericho in a rental car, but as we are going to take route 90, I was wondering whether we could leave the car on the highway somewhere, take a taxi into town, etc. Or are people just taking the risk and driving into Jericho?

Any sights in or around Jericho that could be legally visited in a rental car?

How far in advance does one have to book accommodation in Israel? We'd be there for about 3 weeks in mid-May and are looking at budget, ideally family-friendly (we are with two small kids) accommodation. We'd prefer to keep our itinerary flexible, but obviously don't want to risk being without a place to sleep.

What websites (any local ones?) do you recommend for finding accommodation?

Would anyone have any advice about travelling in Israel during Ramadan? Is it completely impractical or while being discreet and respectful, is it doable?

We are planning to re-enter Israel from Jordan (after a tour of southern Israel and Petra/Jordan) at the northern crossing near Beit She'an. The plan is then to rent a car somewhere not far from the border, explore the North District and drop the car in Acre/Akko or Haifa.

Is it possible to rent a car in Beit She'an or would we have to go to Afula or Tiberias first?

If instead we cross at Allenby/King Hussein Bridge, is there a car rental close to the border (or is the closest in Jerusalem)…
