Hi guys,

We will be in Eilat in early June. We want to do a tour of Petra, Jordan. We want to find a good tour operator to take us over the border, into and around Petra, stay the night in the area and take us back across in the morning.

Any specific recommendations? Any NOT to go with? Any scams or issues to be aware of?

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Cheers

Is there a rental car agency that you would recommend in Aqaba. Originally thought about using the bus system to transfer to Petra but am now concerned about how easy this will be traveling as a group of six. I've heard stories of people having to wait for hours for a bus that would have enough seats for their family. We are traveling in August and our children are young. A taxi is an option, but there again we are a large group so I'd assume we'd need two taxis. I figured looking into a…

Dear all,

Hello! I would like to travel from Cairo to Israel (through Taba border) by NIGHT Transportation and go through the border to Eilat on early morning, in the early May. I am being advised by the others that I can either take the East Delta Bus or private taxi to Taba, however I am confused with difference advice and my research through the internet.

Questions:

1) How and where can I secure and buy the ticket from the East Delta Bus on the day of my arrival to Cairo? E.g. should I…

Hey there folks,

I'll be going to Israel this Fall/September for an internship and am planning on flying into Tel Aviv/Ben Gurion Airport.

Back in 2009, my US passport got completely soaked in water (I fell into a canal in Venice). All of the pages are legible, though some of the visa pages show signs of the ink "bleeding". I took the passport to the American embassy in Brussels and after showing them the passport, they said it was fine.

Since then I've been able to travel with that same…

Three travelers (2 women, 1 man) will arrive at Ben Gurion airport at approximately 3 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2014. We need to travel from the Tel Aviv airport to a hotel in Amman that afternoon. We will obtain visas to enter Jordan before we depart the USA. We assume that the best border crossing to use is the Allenby Bridge crossing.

What is the most expeditious and safest way to make this trip? Can anyone provide detailed information on the buses, cabs, trams, etc. that we will need…

Hi - I will be in Israel in May w/ my girlfriend and one day will be doing pre-sunrise hike up Masada, visiting Ein Gedi and then swimming in the Dead Sea prior to driving down to Eilat to spend the night (will have rental car). Question: If we're spending just a few hours at the Dead Sea, not staying overnight, what's/where's the best way to do that? Is it best to find a hotel in Ein Bokek that allows day visitors who aren't hotel guests (for a fee I assume)? If so, which are the best…

Hello all,

I want to plan an escorted tour (group) in Israel for this summer or fall with my twelve year old granddaughter, I would appreciate feed-back as to the best tour companies from your personal experiences. Thank you so much for your help.

Hi! I'm going to Israel for the first time, leaving later this week. I'm staying for 8 days, not including the days I'm arriving/leaving, and traveling alone, and was planning on staying mostly in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. I was looking at day trips to the Dead Sea and Ein Gedi (like the Abraham tours one), but since I do have eight days, is it worth it to go there on my own and stay overnight? I've seen that the Egged buses go, and it's not too long. But without a car of my own, will I be missing…

I am a bit confused by the statement in the lp guide concerning the opening hours of the Bahai Gardens in Haifa:

Access to the Bahai Gardens is limited. There is one tour per day departing at noon. ... only 60 people are allowed in daily.

On the other hand there are opening hours of 9am to 5pm for the garden.

Are these opening hours only for practicing Bahai or for everybody? If for everybody, is the guided tour at noon going somewhere that is otherwise not possible to visit?

While I definitely wish I had more time to enjoy Jordan, I will have to make do with a few days in Jordan coming from our stay in Israel. I am traveling with one other friend in May. I would appreciate any advice on how I can execute the following itinerary I had in mind:

Day 0: Jerusalem for 3 days and heading to the Dead Sea 1st thing the next day
Day 1: Dead Sea (I would also love to include the Qumran, Ein Gedi, Masada, and Ein Bokek) (sleep in Aqaba??)
Day 2: Wadi Rum tour (Bedouin camp in…
