All,
Thank you for your help with past queries.
Several family members are coming to visit us next week. Their #1 interest is visiting the Noble Sanctuary, i.e. the Dome of the Rock/Al-Aqsa Mosque area. (We understand that as non-Muslims we would not be allowed inside the mosques). Because of the closure of the Mugrabi Bridge, we are concerned about access. We are thinking it may be a good idea to arrange for a guide who might be able to help us with access.

Does anyone have experience with a…

Hello TT-ers!

I'll be arriving in Tel Aviv on December 29 and staying in Israel until January 8th. I have some stops that I have to make: Tel Aviv (obviously), Haifa, Be'er Sheva and Jerusalem due to some master's work, but I'd like to get out to do a day hike or two, maybe around the Sea of Galilee (other ideas certainly welcome). As well, I'm fairly educated with regard to religion (thank you uni electives!), though not a practising religious person, so would like to see antiquities…

We're looking at various tour options for exploring the Galilee and the Golan Heights in January (12-14th). I'm really not a fan of large coaches, but I can't find any small tour groups to join (4-10 people). So we're thinking of getting a private guide for a day or two. Maybe take a Jeep tour?

It's a bit pricey for just two people, especially when the car seats 4-6. It would be nice to find someone else who's looking to take the same type of tour around the same dates, so we could split the…

The beautiful garden of the Haram Ash Sharif / Temple Mount, where the famous Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa mosque are located, is no longer accessible through the ramp at the Wailing Wall. However the Israeli press reports it can now be accessed through Lion's Gate (border between the Muslim and the Armenian quarters).

The Israeli army will not let non-Muslims access through the ten Gates leading to the compound, it demands that they enter through a specific area where they are submitted to…

Hello everyone,

Myself and 3 friends are booked to arrive in TLV on 24 Feb and we are staying for 9 nights. We are all young mid to late 20's guys and girls and are mainly interested in Christian sites, but also interested in Jewish and general sites.

The main thing I need help with is where to stay up north and what to see and how to see it. I have had one suggestion from a friend to stay in Tiberias and use that as a base for up north for a couple of nights.

At the moment I have this rough…

Hi Thorn Tree,

In a couple of months I am planning a trip across the silk road from China to Turkey via the "stan's" and Iran. I have two passports: UK and HK SAR.

The problem I have at the moment is that there is an Israeli stamp in my UK passport. I could of course use my HK passport for the whole journey, however, for Kazakstan and Uzbekistan a LETTER OF INVITATION is NOT needed for UK passport saving a lot of hassle.

If I use my UK passport I could switch from my UK passport to my HK…
