Hi there!

I'm a girl and I will be visiting Jerusalem, Israel in a few months and was wondering what type of clothing is appropriate to wear there? I've heard women must keep shoulders and arms to the elbows covered also are trousers permitted? Could you kindly elaborate on what kind of dress is appropriate?

Apart from visiting holy places and religious sites, you can wear anything you like.
At holy places, trousers are OK as long as they cover your knees. Arms must be covered to at least halfway between shoulders and elbows, no bare midriffs, nothing low-cut, very tight or revealing. Stockings/socks are not necessary and open sandals are OK. Head covering is not necessary. At the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, skirts (below the knee) must be worn. If you do not have one with you, you can rent a wrap.

For a general idea of what women in Israel wear when NOT at holy sites, look at this YouTube video, filmed on a typical Friday afternoon in Tel-Aviv:

Awesome! Thank you guys! I pretty much live in skinny jeans Lol and needed some advice as I will be visiting mostly holy places and religious sites. So, I should be okay when generally travelling through Israel, is there anything else I should know? Thanks again :)

While there are no problems with skinny jeans in most of the country, I sweat when I think of those tight pants against my body. It is HOT in the summer and jeans do not breathe. Wear something lighter and looser!
