But how do i continue from Caesarea to Akko if i come back to Or Akiva from Caesarea, which bus to take and what times?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can take the #910 to Or Akiva Junction, then find a taxi to take you to Caesarea.

To get to Akko, I recommend taking a taxi to Binyamina train station (NOT the Caesarea-Pardes Hanna station), then take the train to Akko. This way you will avoid all of the traffic in downtown Haifa and around Haifa Bay.

To check the train schedules:

Note that you can also take the train from Tel-Aviv to Binyamina, then a taxi to Caesarea.

The 910 bus goes from Tel Aviv to Haifa, so you can get the same bus in the other direction to go to Haifa. Note that it's a 4 km walk from the Or Akiva junction to Caesarea. The chances of finding a taxi are slim.

However, I second what mbgg wrote about using Binyamina station, and I would add that it's a good idea in both directions. Binyamina may be slightly further from Caesarea than the station called Caesarea-Pardess Hanna, but Binyamina is a much busier station, with more trains stopping there, and you'll have no difficulty finding a taxi. Nearly all trains from Tel Aviv to Haifa stop at Binyamina, as well as suburban trains that terminate there, but a few don't stop there, so if you're going by train from Tel Aviv to Binyamina check before getting on the train.

Thx for your replies but i have been recommended to take the bus instead of the train in Israel as there are cheaper and you get to see more during the ride.A 5km walk is really no hassle for me as i i like walking.

Bus is much slower than train. The bus from Tel Aviv to the Or Akiva junction takes an hour and 29 minutes.
Train from Tel Aviv Merkaz to Binyamina takes as little as 32 minutes on a fast train. The difference in fares is only about 5 shekels. Which do you have more of, time or money?

And if you walk the 5 km from the Or Akiva junction in both directions you'll save on taxis, of course! Take plenty of drinking water. It's a long, hot walk and nowhere to fill up on the way.

I don't know who gave you those recommendations, but the train and the highway run more-or-less parallel to each other so the view from the train window is similar to to view from the bus window.

I'm sure that they also didn't describe the heavy traffic all day in downtown Haifa and on Highway 4 around Haifa Bay to Akko. If you take they bus you will have much more time to see the view as you crawl along - oil refineries, factories, shopping malls, etc. - much more interesting than the sites in Haifa or Akko ..... :-)

Take the train and sit on the left side (going north) for great views of the sea.

If you really want to take the bus, the Egged website happens to be pretty good (if Egged serves those areas) at defining routes. Here's the English site: [http://www.egged.co.il/Eng/]
If Egged doesn't serve those areas - or even some of those connections aren't Egged, I recently became aware of a site (run by the Ministry of Transportation) that pulls all the country's bus lines together: [http://www.bus.gov.il/] It doesn't appear to have an English version, but if your Hebrew's okay, or if you can ask someone - it's a good resource.

Will there be any buses or trains running between Tel Aviv and Haifa on Sunday 16 so that it's possible to make a day trip to Caesarea from Tel Aviv?

Olga,
In the morning they'll be running as normal but they will stop in the early afternoon because of the holiday.
There might be privately owned service taxi vans ("monit sherut") that will be running in the late afternoon along the coastal highway.
The last two trains from Binyamina back to Tel Aviv depart at 15:26 and 16:02
