Hi, I've been to Israel many times before and my Hebrew is somewhat decent. I am considering spending the summer there and was wondering if anyone has had experience working in Israel with a tourist visa in restaurants etc... I was wondering is there is an opportunity to do so or if i need a work visa?

Simply put Cali it is illegal to do what your asking about regarding the tourist visa. Work visas are hard to come by and are reserved for specialized positions and wait staffing is unfortunately not one of them.

Hey, I was wondering the same. I just want to be somewhere else than here during the summer working preferably in Israel. Unlike Cali my Hebrew isn't decent and I don't a need visa to enter the country, but I imagine I need a work permit/visa, is it any easier for a EU citizen? Actually, I wouldn't mind working without a permit, my main worry is if I can find a job easy, I don't want to end up going to IL and spending all my money and then going back broke, haha.

You cannot work legally in Israel without a work visa, and your chances of getting one are close to absolute zero - unless, as said, you are a qualified professional in very specific areas where there happens to be a chronic shortage of personnel.

I'm not worried about the legalities, to be honest. Again, the purpose isn't to go home with shit-load of money (not that I'd mind it, but I'm realistic), I merely want to live there during the summer and earn enough money not to have to rely on my savings or even worse — credit cards. I'm just wondering if I can easily get some job different than say dishwashing or working on a construction site.
