I have seen a number of posts about visa extensions with the Interior Ministry but wonder about getting a second visa after visiting Jordan or the Sinai. Is it as easy as just re-entering and getting another three months stamp? Is there a limit?
Thanks

You can get another tourist visa by leaving Israel and re-entering (by land border or airport). It is possible (but highly unlikely) that you could be denied re-entry if you are suspected of working illegally, political activism in the West Bank or other activities the state may find "unsavory."

There is no official limit on how many tourist visas you can get, either by renewing in-country or by leaving and returning. I've known people that have resided in Israel for several years on tourist visas. I've also known a few people who were denied re-entry at some point, usually because of political activism. It helps if you have Israeli friends who can vouch for you. I had an Israeli friend write a letter in Hebrew explaining what I was doing in Israel (research) which I took with me whenever I renewed my visa and never had a problem.

If you want to renew your tourist visa, don't try to do it in country. better to exit and reenter by air from a non-muslim country.

I agree, re-newing your visa by leaving and re-entering is definitely the better option and it's perfectly fine to do it through Sinai or one of the Jordan crossings. Only if you've done it already a couple of times, you may want to consider to leave and re-enter the country through Ben Gurion. Having a good explanation and local Jewish Israeli contacts is always recommendable!

Hey!
I also need to renew my visa in israel and Im planning to go to Jordan.
A couple of question maybe you can help me:
:# Is it necessary to have a Jordan visa, or I can get on the border? Which border u reccommend me? I guess I will visit Petra as well.
# Should I show a ticket out of Israel when I re enter israel?
# For how many days I should be in Jordan to get again the renewal? Should I get back crossing a different border?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Just an update... very late!
I did go to Jordan and spent a week there, returning back to the same border that I crossed from in Eilat. I was granted the second visa but not without major questioning, everything from why I spent a week there to why I had changed my name (I suppose it was too ethnic to suit my looks). I guess I had hoped for some fanfare, "wow you liked our country so much you decided to return." Nope.
Though I did get the visa!!!

is it still that easy?

I wasn't denied but last time I entered from Ben Gurion they gave me just month instead of three. I havent stayed here for years, I stayed "only" for 4 months. I'm scared to go to the office of migration since I read somewhere that they grant you just 6 month in total of staying here. My wish is to leave after Jom Kippur, which would be half a month over the 6 month-rule.

I have no idea what are the right things to tell them. I never lied to them, I'm not planning to.

I would like to know if the person infront of me had a bad day or if the time of leaving and re-entering carefree is over?
