Hi there :)

3 of my friends and I are going to Israel this summer. We were planning to rent a car since we're mainly interested in landscapes and historical sites, so we thought that hiring a car would be the best way to discover the country.

We all have our licence, but we're between 19 and 20 years old. On different website we read that, in Israel, you have to be at least 24 years old to hire a car :(

Is that true? Did anyone have the same problem and found a way to still hire a car?

Hopefully there's a solution!
Thank you in advance :)

24 is the minimum age for most of the car-rental companies in Israel. There are exceptions - Shlomo-Sixt, for example, has a minimum age of 21 (still not good enough for you). You have to check the web sites of each one - use Google to find the smaller ones.

I assume that it is the insurance companies that set these conditions so I doubt whether any rental company will bend the rules for you.

From my experience, in many Western countries the minimum age for car rental is 21. It seems this is true for Switzerland as well. :)
