Thanks everyone for the replies!
Mbgg I have checked the prices on their websites so I think I have an accurate estimate there.
Thanks for the hostel reccomendations, I would like to be centrally located so those sound quite good!

Johnah the 50NIS a day is just an average, I will probably be over some days and under on others so I just hope it will even out. And I do plan on Masada but was going to do a day tour for that.

Nakichick just out of curiosity, would you be able to share where your money was going (accommodation, food, etc?)?

Since it has been about 4 years since I was last in Jerusalem I can't give you up-to-date budget prices as others have.
A couple of additional cost you should include: I don’t know the current exit tax for Israel and since I had a multiple visa for Jordan and crossed from Jordan at the northern border (Jordan River Border Terminal) and returned to Jordan there so I can’t give you the Jordan visa cost. You may want to post this question on the Jordan branch.

A few days since you last asked for info....but ....a few more notes on budgeting. I stayed at hostels.....mostly the cheaper ones but I did pay higher amounts when staying at 3 YHA hostels.....although they were all well worth it.....Acre and Masada especially. Make the most of their breakfasts. Some have huge ones and it is always the time to have your daily salad. During the day I will just eat local bread, nuts and fruit sold in the markets with falafel or something cheap like that for my meal. My big treat is a bottle of ice cold tea when I am hot and exhausted from climbing around ruins in the hot sun. Every few days I will have a cheap home cooked type meal. If you are staying at Abraham Hostel in Jerusalem there is a wonderful little home cooking restaurant a few hundred yards up the road...towards the bus station and across from the market. ....right next door to the tiny synagogue that has the big sundial clock on the wall above it. Food sold in the area outside the Damascus gate is way cheaper than over on Jaffa Rd. The water is clean in Israel so you do not need to buy water.
