Hi and HELP !
I am from Germany and want to travel with my own car to Israel and planning to stay about half a year and get back to Germany.
Anyone with experience ? What dox do I need ? What visa (b1/b2) ? what ferries are working ? what can troubles can I expect at the entry ? ....
thanks
Yana

Not a very practical idea.

There are no ferries to Israel.

Going overland (the only option with a car) necessitates going through Syria. While this may be possible with a car going to Israel (I just don't know), it is certainly impossible going back to Germany, as anyone who has been to Israel is denied entry to Syria. While there are ways to hide the fact that you were in Israel (with some planning) travelling without a car, there is no way you can do so if travelling with your own car.

a1, I appreciate the comments, but I am looking for someone with experience/knowledge ie someone who did this already.
There are RoRo ships from the mediterranian that also take passengers.
I do not want to go country road thru Syria

What about going through Syria to Jordan and then crossing the Sheikh Hussein bridge crossing (North Jordan close to Syrian border) into Israel.
Cars are permitted through there I Believe.

That may be, but do they take private cars? And these ships are not regularly scheduled ferries.

The big problem is going back overland to Germany through Syria.

These RoRos might work. I think you will have a hard time finding someone who did this, as this sort of thing has become extremely uncommon since ferry traffic to israel stopped several years ago. Good luck though, and hope you succeed. Just curious why you'd want to go to all that trouble? It would probably work out cheaper to buy a simple car here and sell it when you leave, I think.
