Hi,

I will be in Jerusalem in the end of March and would like to take a day trip to Masada and Dead Sea by bus. I am wondering how's water temperature in the Dead Sea, will it be too cold to float in the Dead Sea?

Thanks!

It will be warm enough for a quick float, which is as much as you would want. The water is slimy and unpleasant. It's worth a few minutes, just to say you've experienced it!

Warning: don't try it with anything in your hands - newspaper, camera - because you will lose your balance and whatever you are holding will get soaked and ruined!

Have fun.

i heard the eastern shores (Jordan side)of the Dead sea 2-3 degrees warmer . cos it is exposed to the sun longer hours,,The western side ,surround by hills and it gets more of cold westerly breez

Maybe, marcopoloo, but are you suggesting OP should swim right across the Dead Sea?!

I floated in the Dead Sea from the Jordanian side last March.
It was definitely warm enough.
