What are my options for finding an inexpensive walk-on ferry out of Israel? Any chance of gaining passage on a private craft?

Many thanks.

Unfortunately not. The only ferries that exist are to Cyprus/Greece and arre rather expensive. Flying is bith faster and cheaper.
As for a private craft : You could always try but i wouldn't get my hopes up too high. Due to security concerns there aren't a lot of private yachts leaving Israel.

There are no "classical" ferries to/from Israel. What George says exist are not really ferries but erratically scheduled cargo ships and the like, which may or may not take you aboard for a rather large fee. As he says, flying is the only practical way to go to Cyprus, Greece and the rest of Europe.

#a1 : NB : The ferries aren't really erratic. They go fairly regularly once or twice a week. However the day of sepature is not the same for every week, so you need to inquire in advance.

Duly noted and thanks. Sort of depends on your definition of 'erratic'. :)
