First, my apologies if this question has been asked before (I did a quick search but didn't find the info I'm looking for)... and no, this isn't another Allenby crossing question! ;)
I'm looking for information on recommended mid-range places to stay in the Galilee or Upper Galilee. We'd also like to visit the Golan Heights but for personal reasons I'd prefer to spend my Shekels on the Galilee side, so ideally a place with convenient access to the Golan is what we are looking for. We have our own transportation and will be a group of around 6-8 people. Does anybody know if there might be some difficulties finding a place this weekend? Will the Eid holiday have any impact on room availability in the north??
I'd also really appreciate any tips on "must sees" in the area. Some of us are very sporty and would like to do a bit of hiking, and we'd be interested in checking out some of the fortresses in the area (Golan or Galilee) and maybe a winery (Galilee side). I do have a book on national parks and nature reserves but there's not too much info on actual hikes in the parks...
Is four days in the region too much? If so, I was also thinking of checking out Tiberias, Nazareth, and/or Akko.
Thanks a ton!!
