Hello. I will be in Jerusalem on a business trip in January and have an appointment in Ramallah one afternoon. I know it is possible to take a bus, but since this is my first trip, I would prefer to hire a taxi who will wait for me and then take me back to Jerusalem after my appointment. Does anyone have any recommendations? I know I can go to the Damascas gate and just hire a taxi there, but would like to book in advance with someone who has been recommended. Thank you in advance.

I can recommend David, as Israeli Arab he has permission to go across Israeli-Palestinian borders and knows which checkpoints to avoid when. His email is taxi-david@hotmail.com. He has many international clients that travel across Jerusalem to Ramallah and other parts of the Palestinian territories from Israel.

All taxis at Damascus Gate can take you there. The fare is between 120-150 shekels one way depending on traffic. You can negotiate a reduced price if you take the taxi for the return trip as well. The Jerusalem Gate taxis company work for most international organizations based in East Jerusalem and is based close to American Colony hotel.
