I'm not at all sure how the system works - but have just got back from Iran with lots of tips and ideas. Do I post them here? Here's one:
In Ardebil: the hotel Sabalan - reviewed in the most recent book as musty - is now open again after a two year refit. This probly is now the best hotel in Ardabil!
Or is this commercial advertising? Which the site says 'no' to? I'm really sorry, if so - but I have no links with them except 3 comfortable nights in their clean and pleasant rooms.
If this seems to…

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it is still possible for Australians to get 15 day tourist visas issued upon arrival at the airport in Tehran? I tried to organise a 30 day one through Iranianvisa.com but it's taking a very long time and I am planning to leave for Iran next week.

Hi,

Does anyone know if I get an Iranian visa, will it prevent me from travelling to other countries? I am an Irish citizen. I'm wondering will I get hassle from other countries if I have an Iranian stamp on my passport, namely the US? I see for example that Iran themselves won't let you in if you have an Israeli stamp on your passport.

Thanks,
Tom

Morning all,

I've just had a nightmare getting my visa renewed in Yazd, so I thought I'd tell you all how it's done and hopefully save someone the day I've had.

1) They do give renewals here with no fuss.

2i) You need to take two passport photos; your passport; photocopies of the info/photo page on your passport and the page with your visa and entry stamp/

2ii) You also need to have paid 100,000 rials (10USD) into an account at 'Bank Melli'. To do this, go to bank Melli (before 12pm is best…

  1. we plan to fly from Tehran to ahvaz to see ziccurat, etc. we were able to book a flight with Iran air at 18.00. it means that we arrive to ahvaz at about 19.30.
because the airport is on the way to shushtar and we have nothing to do in ahvaz we would like to go from airport directly to shushtar. My questions: is it possible to get a shared taxi to shushtar so late in the evening (about 20), are there other earlier flights (at 16 or 17) from Tehran? we will be close to the Tehran's domestic…

Hi everyone,

I have a question

I have heard there is a new rule in Iran. This new rule is that: smoke nargile(hookah, shisha) is banned, forbidden.

I don't know if it's true or not, please tell me if you know the point

I really hope, it's possible to smoke water pipe in Iran still:D

thanks

Guys,

could you, please, recommend budget hotels or hostels in Shiraz, Yazd and Isfahan? I would appreciate any information, but especially - your personal experience.
Thank you in advance.

Hello friends,

I have been trying to get in contact with the Iranian embassy in Canberra for some time now. I have sent several emails over a number of months (no replies) and tried calling during their opening hours at different times, on different days etc. In total, I think I have dialled their number at least 30 times only to be met by the 'engaged' dial tone. A few times I have managed to get through to the main phone menu that thanked me for phoning the embassy and invited me to choose…

You might have heard about the Silk Road hotel in Yazd...
The same owners recently opened a guesthouse in the Oasis citadel of Kharanaq, a thousand year old mudbrick castle village, surrounded by desert and mountains.
One hour drive from Yazd on the road to Tabbas and Mashad. Excellent, quiet place to chill out and for hiking.
Room with a view, camping under the pommegranade trees, sleeping on the roof, vegetarian food, Everything is Possible!
