I leave for Iran in 2 weeks. I'll be there 3 weeks and am wondering about functioning hammams that are open to women. If anyone has hammam recommendations for Tehran, Shiraz, Yazd, Esfehan, Kashan, Qazvin or Hamadan, that would be great.

Hi, I am spending my first 10 days in Iran on a tour, then another 10 days travelling independantly.I have only 1 day in Tehran before I join the tour, and need to book all my train and plane tickets for the bit I'm doing on my own. Obviously I'd prefer to get it all done as quickly and smoothly as possible because a- I'll be tired after an overnight flight, and b - I want to spend the day sightseeing.

Hi everyone. I'm planning to be in Iran in September, and I have a few questions about transport. Basically, everywhere I look says Iran has good transport, buses and trains, but there don't seem to be many practical details. Is it easy to book journeys (within Iran) on the day, when you don't speak Farsi? How expensive is, say, Esfahan- Tehran, and where can I find prices?

I know there are already a few posts about the various Farsi courses on offer in Iran but I couldn't see one relating to my exact question.
I want to take the course in Tehran in December through January. The problem is I'm leaving the UK on September 22nd to start my travels eastward.
I'm concerned I wouldn't have enough time to let it all come through. Does anyone remember how long it took them to get the forms sent in, visa approved, and then picked up?

Does anyone know about ferries from either Oman or one of the Emirates to Iran? Which companies run ferries, how often do they travel, and how much is it to take a vehicle? We'd really appreciate any advice.

I'm a solo canadian traveller and will be leaving Canada in early September, from there I will travel by land to Turkey and then through Iran to Pakistan. My problem is that I don't really have a fixed timeline for each country and I was wondering how I would go about getting a visa for Iran while I'm in Turkey - this would be easier for me since I'll have a better idea of when and for how long I'll be in Iran. How long does the visa application take? Is there a fast way of getting one?

I'm traveling to Iran in early November and my hosts in Tehran have offered to set up a two-day side trip for me to either Isfahan or Shiraz. Generally, I prefer the chance to walk around on my own, find good local food and shops and avoid tourist traps. I do not, however, speak Farsi. Any thoughts on which city I should select and what I might do and see outside of the main tourist spots?
