If I were to base myself in Mahan rather than Kerman, is there public transport - bus or savaris, going from Mahan to Reyan and back? Sounds like there are plenty of buses from Kerman to Reyan, would they stop in Mahan?

on the embassy-side I found that you need( since May 2008) a health-insurance witch is specially even good for Iran at the border. Otherwise you have to buy one there...
Does anyone know something about it? Whats with the international insurance for example from the automobile-clubs?
How expensive is the insurance at the border ?

I have checked the internet, and seems that Ramadan finishes on Sept 30 this year, so Oct 1 will be a holiday.

Will Oct 1 be similar to any other Fridays where bazaars are not open and mosques close early? Will I be able to join 1-day local tours on Oct 1 or say, chartered a taxi to places like Persepolis?

I have 15 days in October (probably from 15 Oct to 30 Oct) to visit either Iran or Pakistan. I don't want to cover them in a single trip, as it's too rush for me. However, I still cannot pick one from them, as they are both very attractive to me!

Do you have any information, suggestions or advices about places of interest, safety, climate or cost for these 2 countries? I am 23 (male) and I will travel alone.

I'm an Italian passport holders who want to go in Iran for a tourist visit of 15 days, up to 30.
At the moment i'm in Islamabad, Pakistan, and i have been this morning to the Embassy of Iran applying for a tourist visa. It is all ok but they say to me that i need to wait 10 days or more to get the visa. So i thought about a Visa on Arrrival at the airport. I was looking on internet, i found the application form and it was all ok till i found that is required to give a confirmed…

I am thinking of using iranianvisa.com to get a visa number then after I get one I have to send my passport to the iran embassy in canberra, australia. Iranianvisa.com says you pay them 30 euros and they take 10 days to get the visa number. Do they really do it this quickly???

and once they have it I have to send my passport to the canberra embassy but do I have to then pay another $73 just to get my visa or do I just send my passport in by itself with a return registered post bag and no…

I plan to travel in iran in late august/sept,
Is traveling during ramadan going to ba a hassel. I know everything runs ok but not being able to kick back during the heat of the day and have a coffee or tea with the locals could be a real drag.Would it be better if I waited till ramadan is almost over before entering Iran.

Does anyone know if Hotels in Iran accept Euros? I am quite sure they do. Payment in Rials however isn’t always possible, isn’t it? Does anyone have experiences in that field?

I gather there's an exchange place at the airport that's open for every flight arrival. My question is, is the rate competitive and do they charge a lot of commisssion? ie is it worth changing plenty there, or is it better to get just a little there and change more in town later?
