I am planning a trip with a friend to Iran in January and we are thinking on travelling from India, through Pakistan, to get there. We are both female - me British and my friend from New Zealand - well travelled and experienced.
However, we are hearing nothing but horror stories about doing this route - fed by travel advice on various websites. We are wondering if anyone has done this route and can redress the worse-case scenario balance. While we are adventurous, we are not naive anough to do…
Hi all
Just wondering if I am applying for my Iranian Visa via the Canberra Embassy, do the photos I submit have to have my head covered?
If yes does it matter what with - will any scarf etc do or does it have to be black/dark coloured? How much hair can be showing?
Sorry for sounding ignorant but am just about to apply for my visa and don't want the photos to mess it up.
Thanks and have a great evening

I am going to Iran in the end of September and will stay there for one month.
I am not planning on doing anything stupid while im there, but i am only human so you never know.
What will happen to me if i get caught drinking alcohol, or if the police catch me talking to some girl in the streets?

Hi there,
Am looking for recommendations for great places to eat in Tehran - from top end, smart stylish restaurants to fun, cheap eateries and interesting cafes. Also has anyone heard of a place that translates (I'm told) as 'House of the ARtists' in Iran Shahr Avenue, and has a cafe and restaurant (don't know the names - can anyone fill me in? And as to how nice /relaxed it is?)
Also, business hotels which come equipped with conference rooms, AV equipment.
Thank you!
Does anyone know the addresses of the historic houses, Vosooqodoleh House and Imam Jomeh House in Tehran? Thank you.
does it work?what is domestic population view on that?any experiences?
Hi!
I'll be in Iran (Tehran-Chalus-Masuleh-Ardabil- Tabriz-Tehran) from august 16 to september 6, so 4 days of Ramadan.
I may be wrong, but I guess it's better to spend the 4 days of Ramadan in Tehran because some museums, monuments... may be opened more than any other city and it may be easier to find activities, hotels... Am I right??
