We are two French tourists who traveled to Iran recently. Based on this forum’s recommendation, we approached Touranzamin for getting our visas. Touranzamin claims on its website that visa authorization fee is EUR35. After submitting our applications, surprisingly, we were asked to pay EUR50 (plus some extra amount for exchange and other costs) claiming that the process is more expensive at the consulate we had selected (Istanbul). We paid this fee (more than 100 euro for 2 persons). When we…
I'm an American who will be (hopefully) travelling to Iran next summer. I know that I have to go with a tour, which is fine. However, after the tour I'd like to spend a few weeks in Uzbekistan. The tour I am interested in starts and ends on a Saturday. I did some research and found out that Air Iran flies to Uzbekistan but only on Fridays. I am assuming that I'd have to pay for another tour or for a guide from the time my initial tour ends until I leave the country on the following Friday? I am…
My tour of Iran ends at 1800 or 1900 on a Sunday evening and my flight home is at 2:40. The travel agency has suggested that I book a hotel room at the airport hotel for 100+ euros. What's the airport like for a traveller who has six or seven hours to kill? Are there lots of places to sit??

Hello,
I am a 25-year-old Chinese woman working in Dubai. I am hoping to travel to Mashhad from 24-27 December and would be happy to meet any other travelers who will be here around the same time. As it will be my first time traveling in Iran, I am a bit excited and nervous.

Just a heads up to travellers who have been or are planning a trip to Iran. It is likely that you will now need to apply for a visa if you subsequently travel to the USA (if you have previously been eligible for the visa waiver program):

This also includes Iraq (and Kurdistan?), Syria and Sudan for travel after March 2011.

Hi travelers,
I am looking to travel to Iran with my friend (both of us early 30s Americans with other passports, Taiwan/German) as she received a grant related to landscape architecture from Harvard.
We are pretty intrepid travelers and went to Morocco together a few years ago (we posed as a married couple to make things easier)...but I'm curious to know if people have had security issues traveling not as part of a group in Iran? How do you get around if you want to get out of the main…
Hey everybody!
I know the Trans Asia Express is not running at the moment due to the conflicts in eastern turkey but since I won't be going to Iran until April 2016 I am already sort of planning ahead.
I want to use my visa to the full extent, thus 30 days. I will be flying into Tehran and would love to exit by train (inshalla the train will be running again next year).
Therefore I would like to know where exactly you get stamped out of Iran? Does anybody have any information concerning this?
I…
