Hi,

we were at lake Gahar a few days ago. We arrived at the parking lot in the evening and wanted to head to the lake and back next morning. However the environmental guard at the parking lot told us (with some translation help) that the lake is off limits until end of May for everyone and that afterwards foreigners need a permit and a translator (?!). Otherwise he was very nice and appologized multiple times for not letting us pass. We camped at the parking lot and the next day an Iranian…

there is a private bus connecting the two airports in Tehran, 24h/7days every 30 minutes, 6.000 Toman,
because I did not find information on the bus stop at Mehrabad airport, here it is:
the corner of Parvaz and Hojjai St (just west of terminal 4)
Who has experience with the bus?

Hello,

Hi travelers.

I am going to Iran in early June for 2 weeks and will mostly be outside Tehran.

Does anyone know:

  1. Is it easy to get tickets just day before/day of? If not, how do we get tickets in advance?

  2. Are there overnight buses from Kerman to Shiraz? If so are there any recommended companies?

Thanks!

Lucas

With the changing nature of Iran-Canada relations, can anyone update me as to whether Canadians need to be accompanied by a guide when travelling solo in Iran? Trying to find up-to-date info on this.

(Apologies if this question has already been answered in a previous post - I haven't found anything in the forum yet, but may not have dug deep enough)

Thanks! MC

Hello fellow travelers,

We'll travel to Iran in October for 17 -18 days, maybe 20 and not interested in outdoor activities.
Please, for the help of experienced about smaller destinations.
Of course I know that the opinions and interest are subjective, but nevertheless would help me.
I am interested in the Kurdish Iran and the Caspian and maybe a little desert .... but I don't think that the time is enough...
Well.....

Hello, i'm a 20-year old Italian student planning to visit Iran this july.
As such, my budget is very limited, and i would like not to spend extra €40 in a travel agency obtaining a voucher. I read that it is possible to obtain a visa by having the hotel one spends the first night in contacting the Foreign affairs ministry: is this true? would anyone know of one such hotel in Qom/Tehran, willing to do this?
i'm planning to obtain a visa before entering the country, in order to avoid the (albeit…

I spent two days at Tak-taku guesthouse with Mohamed and his family. He is a wise guy and superhelpful with everything you need. Excellent host!
The rooms are clean and spacious and the meal is very good. Very relaxing stay.
I highly recommend to stop and stay here.
Regards, Tomas

We will arrive at Tehran International Airport on a Friday at 4.30 AM. Our intention is to hire a taxi at IKA and spend some hours in Qom, from there take a bus to KASHAN.
Since it's a Friday, do you know the visiting hours for non-muslims? Gate 14 for non-muslims?
Any idea about recent cost of taxi from IKA to QOM?
Regards,
Enric
