Do you read Farsi?

With an Australian passport you can get the VOA. There are plenty of posts by Australians that give complete details of what to expect.

The link below lists all countries ineligible and gives fees for VOA for others. Might help you.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has set up an e-Visa page.

You can look at it here and see about Singapore passport visa requirement. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to get a Visa on arrival at the airport or maybe you can use the official e-Visa page or at least take a look at it.

This is the link:

They are really going after the tourists. I guess the country needs money. Every tourists brings them a chunk of money just on the visa alone!

That so-called e-visa page is just an application form. It is helpful only if you plan to apply for a visa at a consulate. It is not relevant to a VOA.

The embassy of Iran in Kuala Lumpur provides services to Singaporeans. Here is all the information you need, including about VOAs:

For a VOA you will pay the same fee, or perhaps a little more, as you would if you obtained your visa in KL.
