I know that the visa for Iran is valid for 3 months and gives the right to stay in Iran for 30 days. So I am supposed to enter Iran within 3 months after the issue of the visa. But do I need to leave Iran before the 3 monts period is expired? Or can I use the 30 days allowed stay even if the visa is expired?
For example, I get a visa at 1 May 2008 which is valid till 31 July 2008. If I enter Iran on 15 July can I stay till 10 August ? Or do I need to leave Iran before 31 July?

If you enter Iran on July 15th, it doesnt matter than you get to stay for 30 days, because the visa is only for three months from the time it was issued. I would advise that close to the end of the three month visa, to extend.

Unfortunately you have to leave Iran before 31 July 2008.
But it may be a possibility to extend your visa duration.
Err, I believe #1 and #2 are wrong, a visa validity means the period you can use the visa, ie, enter the country. So you have three months to enter the country, and from that moment you have 30 days to leave the country: you can stay until 10 august. But like Admiral said, you can extend you visa anyway.
As you are are talking about extending the visa I would like to ask how you can do it and where it is easy to do it. Because my visa which was issued in Turkey only allows me to stay for 14 days. Thanks in advance!
Me? Wow
I'd like to ask where you have to go to extend your visa? Is there an office in any bigger city?
And in which city would you advise to try to extend your visa? Because I heard in some cities like Tehran it should be hard.
My current visa has a "Duration of stay" of 14 days, but I'd like to stay about 3 weeks in Iran.
