Hello. I would like to get more information regarding Sistan va Baluchestan. I have some days left "unplanned" and would like to include this area in as well. I did managed to find a tiny bit of information from a blog but thats in 2014. Anyone been to this area (Zahedan, Chabahar)? Would love to connect with anyone who has prior experience in this region. Cheers!

Hello MahsaAsl! Thank you for your response. I would really like to visit Zabol though and that's near Afghanistan. I did managed to find some couchsurfers living in Zahedan. I am still finding information in regards to that region. I am planning to proceed here from Shiraz.

Hi there djayasudarma,

My partner and I spent a fair bit of time in these areas last year, and they were the highlight of our trip. We found it totally safe (although people from Tehran will tell you different :)), and the people the most overwhelmingly friendly in a country full of lovely people. You can find the famous Alex in Zahedan, but we couldn't find Couchsurfers in Zabol. There is a budget hotel in the town that won't take foreigners, and a pricey one on the entrance to town. We just wandered around until a family found us, adopted us and took us to stay with them! There are a few hosts in Chabahar too. There's tons to see in the area. We have a few blog posts that will tell the story easier....

Bandar Abbas and around
Chabahar
Zahedan and Zabol

Hi
I highly recommend you to visit Kuh-Khajeh and Shahre-Sookhteh if it is possible for you.
Sistan's culture is a bit like Pakistan, but this region in Iran is completely safe.
I also recommend you to listen to some of their folklore music pieces as their music is heavily linked with magic.

Thank you for this information as well. Looks like I will be coming to this area after my days in Zagros. Will give updates when I have them.
