as i understand, with the help of a visaagency i just need to go with a number to the iranembassy and i receive the visa within a short time.

In usual manner it takes about 10 working days but it may differ depends on where you apply.
Consider that you can also apply for a visa just when you have arrived at the airport.
In this way if there isn't any problem it may take only 2 to 3 hours.

There is plenty of Iran visa info on this thread... a lot depends on what nationality you are- many need visa in advance. The visa agent gets the authorisation from Tehran- you then apply to your local consulate for visa...
