Going in a few weeks to Iran, just found out it is Ramadan, hmmm little mistake and have a not changable ticket.
How hard is it travelling during Ramadan? Are the buses operating in time? What about foodwise, are the restaurants/ theehouses closed during the day? What can I expect, maybe bringing my bike over is a good idea.

In regards to transportation you will not face any problems. But restaurants will be closed during the day mostly but not all of them. Don't worry. You will have a great trip.

Don't make any plans to do anything productive or in a hurry around sunset; everything shuts down for iftar (breaking of the fast) The holiday at the end of Ramadan (Eid al-Fitr) can be very busy travel-wise. Plan accordingly.

Just keep in mind that in Islam, a traveler cannot fast! So eating or drinking around bus stations or airports considered a normal thing
Activities do slow down before evening, but on the other hand things usually shift to night time, so going to park or cinema around 2am will be normal :)
But official sights and touristy places usually wouldn't change anything

Yeah buses definitely operate in time and they'll have their usual stops on the way so you can eat Some restaurants inside the cities are going to be closed but takeaways are open. Ask locals where to find one and they'll help you out. You can also buy some small sandwiches from the supermarkets and eat them discreetly in a park or somewhere. As a tourist I'm sure you won't have any problems.

Best,
