Back from 3 weeks around Iran, and I can honestly say that it has been one of, if not the best trip I've done. Esfahan was particularly amazing, however what made the trip for me was all the warm and friendly people I met everywhere. On the coach, on the train, in the street, in a shop...

The impression we're fed of Iran in the West and the reality couldn't be further apart. If you're considering a trip out there, have complete faith and be open with the people when you're there. The rewards are great. I've been to Various European countries, Egypt, Jordan, India, Peru, Bolivia, but it's Iran that has had the biggest effect on me. Thankyou to everyone on here who gave me advice before the trip and thanks to the wonderful people of Iran for giving me so many good memories. I'll be back!

Having just got back, I second everything that Jolsa has said!! I've never been anywhere less scary than Iran! The Western perception of it is completely and utterly false. It's a beautiful country populated by friendly, hospitable and honest people. I wish the world would take notice of the REALITY. Mr Bush and his counterparts should get a backpack and do a bit of travelling - maybe then they'd see what the world is really like.
