Hi, I'm planning to vacation in Iran from Oct 30 - Nov 7 and so I'd like to ask this forum for advice regarding my itinerary.

  • I'm planning to fly to Kerman on Friday, Oct 30, aboard Mahan Air since that's the only Iran flight I've found so far that flies on that day.
  • I need to fly to Dubai from Isfahan on Saturday, Nov 7, because that's the latest budget flight from Iran that will get me to Dubai on that day.
  • In between those dates I have 8 full days of sightseeing. My problem is I'm not sure what's feasible to visit within this timeframe. I had in mind:

Oct 31 - Either Bam or Rayen Castle, evening bus/train from Kerman to Yazd
Nov 1 Yazd, overnight bus to Shiraz
Nov 2-4 Shiraz, Persepolis, Firuzabad, overnight bus to Isfahan
Nov 5-7 Isfahan

I'm not sure if I should add an overnight camp in the desert or a daytrip to Nain/Varzaneh. Also, for my visa, I'm planning on applying for it while in Dubai, instead of getting a visa on arrival -- not sure how feasible this is.

Do you guys think my plan is feasible? Thanks very much!

it's way too much! you really won't be able to enjoy much as you will spend so much time in transit. the problem is if there are any travel problems your schedule becomes very difficult to maintain. If you want to go to the desert than the Kaluts near Kerman are better and just as accessible. You can do in one day Bam, Rayen and Mahan and then leave for Yazd. One day is not enough for Yazd, part of the charm is enjoying being there. How do you plan on making all these visits, with a hired driver or on public transport? If you get a driver from Yazd to Shiraz then you can visit all the sites along the way - Persepolis, NashqeRostam etc.... Yes, it costs a lot more but you get in all those visits and make a better use of the day. Isfahan is the easiest city to see as you can do it all on foot practically. Any questions - send me a PM

Hi
Do you want to be realistic? If yes, then keep Kerman for next time.

You can start from Shiraz, and so far, I think there is direct flight from Dubai and then fly out of Iran to Dubai on your previous schedule.

Arrival on Friday: Stay over night in Shiraz. 30 Oct

1 day Shiraz: 31 Oct
Because of limit of time, one full day in Shiraz. Stay over night in there.

2 day: 1 Nov
Visit Persopolis, Naqsh-e Rostam, Pasargad with local tour, you can find people in Hotel to share taxi with or they can find for you. Take a night bus to Yazd. Or continue from road, but you should book the ticket for yourself by phone then they pick you up on the road. Stay over night in Yazd.

3 day: 2 Nov
Visit SarYazd Castle in morning, it is 30 Km away from Yazd toward to Kerman. It is very old about 1800 years old and although it is smaller than Bam and Rayan castle but very fascinating. Visit Zor-Khane Sahebol Zaman in Yazd at 18 pm and around there. Over night in Yazd.

4 Day: 3 Nov
Full day visit of Yazd. Visit silent tower, fire temple, Visiting old neighborhoods of Yazd, Jame mosque. Over night in Yazd.

5 day: 4 Nov
Yazd to Esfehan, on the way, visit Meybod and Narin Qaleh about1500 Bc and Pigeon house, Traditional 300 years old Ice chamber house, visit Naien Jame mosque (Don't miss under ground praying hall), continue to Esfahan or stay over night in Naien Tourist INN.(It is good and clean and cheaper than hotels in Esfahan)

6 Day: 5 Nov
Full day in Esfahan

7 Day: 6 Nov
Full day in Esfahan

8 Day: 7 Nov
Fly back home.

If this schedule doesn't interest you, please let me know, so I think more about it to fit you with a better one including Kerman as well ; )
Best Hopes
