Hello....This post is for any American that has gone through the Pakistan Embassy in Wash. DC. to get an Iranian visa. As an American I realize one has to go through an organize tour to get an Iranian visa. That being done, I have just received my authorization number. The next process is to contact the Pak Embassy for required documents. For some strange reason, trying to contact the Pakistan Embassy has been very frustrating. My instructions from the tour company are as follow: 2 photos, must fill out a standard visa form, must pay your fee for the visa. Seems simple enough. I have to do every thing by mail. My questions are, until I make contact with Pak Embassy are: 1. Is this "standard visa form' a special Iranian visa form or is it the Pak visa form that I can download from thier web site? 2.What is the fee? 3. Who is it payable too? I know eventually I must make contact with them, but in the mean time is there anyone that has gone through this process. Any info would be greatly appreciated....thank you......Bostonbobby

hi again Bobby,
I should say yo drive me crazy with your questions!
1. Is this "standard visa form' a special Iranian visa form or is it the Pak visa form that I can download from their web site? Of course it is an Iranian visa application form! Although Iran 'Interest Section' is technically part of Pakistani Embassy, they (the Iranian section) run their 'own operations' , have completely separate visa application forms/consular service, and maintain own web site.
2.What is the fee? I do not know! Try calling them again or check their website.
3.Who is it payable too? The last time I checked payments were made to 'Iran Interest Section'. Let me know if you need more help. Take care.Bye.

Hello-
All the info you need can be found on the Iranian Interests DC website at:
http://www.daftar.org/Eng/default.asp?lang=eng
I also sent you a private e-mail. I can explain the process in more detail if you would like.
Regards,
DD
I just returned from Iran. I am American and went through the Pakistan Embassy in DC. The whole process is a major pain so I would simply suggest doing what I did. Hiring a visa agency to help you and just do everything for you. They did everything for me including going to the embassy themselves bc its impossible to get the right person on the phone. The cost was minimal in addition to the cost of the visa, etc. I used passportvisaexpress.com if that helps.
Iran was a nice place to visit and although its a major hassle it is worth it. I hope this helps.

Question for all you TT folks- when I went in Dec-Jan 08, I obtained my visa in 24hrs at the London embassy. fyi, I am on an Aussie passport.
I am now residing in Washington DC, and am guessing I need to go via the Pakistani embassy. Seeing that I am an Aussie citizen but still require visa (but not approved tour), what are the separate procedures for non-US citizens? sorry if that is confusing.
Thanks!
