I'm currently in the latter stages of arranging my visa for a visit to Iran. As a UK national, it states quite emphatically on the Iranian Embassy (UK) website, that the visa fee is £68, yet I am hearing from various other sources that it's £73. Now, what am I to believe here?

Iran recently increased its visa fees slights (e.g. for Schengen-Europeans it is now € 60 instead or formerly € 50). So it might be that the website is out of date. The only way to know for sure is to call the embassy directly.

As long as i know at the present time visa application fees for British nationals are as follows:

* Transit Visa £61
* Tourist Visa Single Entry £68
* Multiple Visa for Business £90

but for further info you'd better ask their consultants.
Here is their address if it helps :

The fee is £73. I received a call from the embassy last week the day after I posted our passports apologising that there was a £5 increase. I gave credit card details over the phone there and then and received our passports with VISA stamps 2 days later! Very efficient!

Hi, thanks for everyone's replies. Yes, I obviously did try calling them first, but after two mornings of nobody answering the phones I thought I'd try this site. I really, really can't believe they can't be bothered updating their website to make it £5 more, from £68 to £73, as this could potentially wreck lots of people's travel plans. It was by pure chance I found this out so thought I would verify this here...

Once again, thanks to everyone.

Hi have just got my visa for Iran, it costs £73 nowadays. Queue outside the embassy from about midday in 12:30 when you get a number, when this comes up (quite fast) hand over the application form passport and cost by card they will have your permission from Tehran. In my case I dropped of on the monday and had to return to collect stamped passport on the wednesday. I was led to believe that for an extra cost it could all be done in one day, I tried without success.

Hi thanks for your reply. Just to confirm, my confirmation was faxed to the consulate in London from Tehran, and when I sent my application in the post I just included a cover letter with it stating they should have this confirmation from Tehran. Do you think that would be enough for them to match them to be able to match it up? I wasn't able to make it to the consulate in person, as I live nowhere near London.
Cheers.
