Iran visa...Delhi or Islamabad?

Hi, I'm in India at the moment and have a very limited amount of time travelling left but have had a dream of an overland stint back to Europe and London England brewing in my bones for months now. I really want to go via Pakistan, Iran and Turkey, but have to decide whether Delhi or Islamabad would be the quickest place to obtain an Iran visa. On the basis that I have the authorisation code, could anyone tell me where would be quicker to get the visa from, and what kind of time frame I'm looking at? I'm a British national,

Hi Helen,
If you already have the 'authorization code' and happen to be in New Delhi at this time, then it would make sense for you to contact Iranian Embassy there and find out how fast they would issue you visa. Am i right? and if you are not happy with their answers, then I would suggest you should should move on to Pakistan. by the way, place the same ad. on Middle East forum as well simply because there are many more tourists who DO NOT review topics postings on Iran forum but have been to Iran in the past and could nevertheless help with your questions! Try Dehli first - much more easy access. In Islamabad the Iranian Embassy is in the diplomatic
zone where only special coaches are allowed in - takes 30-40 minutes to get there already only
because of the security measures.

I got my Iranian visa in 1 day in Islamabad - based on the fact i already had an Iranian visa in my
passport and my nationality. Still I had an interview with the consul - he decided wether to do the
2 week or 1 day process.

hi i read somewhere on the forum that you can also get your irani visa in the consulate in Lahore...he/she didnt have problems there and it took only 1 day if i remember correctly...

im saying this because im gone try to get in in lahore...( that will be in 1 month time...)

hello helen,

i just got my iran visa last week in islamaba, just need to wait for one day if you have got the authourization code before, but i am not sure the situation from india and i am now in india and will fly to iran next week.
