Good afternoon,

has anyone tried to get an Iranian visa online from this web site (run by the ministry of foreign affairs)

Any experience? Is it working?

Furthermore any idea if for Swiss citizen the same 15 day visa on arrival rule applies. I call the Iranian embassy in Bern they say only 7 days, I look on airline visa information and they say 15... A bit confusing and I wonder if at the embassy the have any clues...

Any help is appreciated.

I used it 3 days ago, my application went through and I got a confirmation by mail with a reference number. It also says I will be notified by email about the visa. But since then I havent heard anything. So Im waiting.

Got another email today saying my request was inspected 5.8.2008. For further details refer to Foreign Affairs Ministry Representative at Imam Khomeiny Airport.
I guess it means the visa is ok.

So the visa is waiting for you at the airport? You dont have to pick it up at an embassy or something like that?

Wow that sounds very easy.
Howmuch did they charge you?
Are you intending to stay longer than two weeks in Iran?
I've never heard about a visa pick up service at the airport for stays longer than 2 weeks.

It is for the visa upon arrival. Apparently it should speed up the procedure at arrival. And it is for the 15 days. But I will wait and see what happends when I arrive. I guess the price is 50 EURO, but I have to wait and see for that too.
