Hi folks!
I came back yesterday from Iran and I had a very good time there. I've got the Visa on the border without problems, the people were so nice as I have never seen in the world. I`ve been in Teheran, in Esfahan and Shiraz.
I am quite fluent in Persian(I can also write and read a little bit), they were always asking me "Where have you learnt it!" "Boro kalo"-needless to say that i have paid ridiculous prices in hotels and got better services that anywhere in the world. For example I have stayed in a new hotel in Shiraz called Hotel Park Saadi and paid 35 dollars....and I have been really treated like a Shah. The same was in Teheran, I have stayed in the Shiraz Hotel, which costs only 35 dollars and has a very good breakfast and very nice stuff.
I was invited by students to their homes, they have paid my taxi i felt quite ashamed. people have a very high level of culture I knew that because i know of course a lot of Iranians in Austria. The nicest experience was when I have got lost in Esfahan, and I have asked three guys where was the sio se pul. One had a motorcycle, he has told me:"I will get you there". iT was so nice riding a motorcycle on such a nice weather!!!!!! I had to insist five minutes until he accepted to get the money.
Dast-e tun dard na kone.

Yep, that sounds like Iran! Glad you enjoyed it.
Hope more people visit, especially from countries whose governments are trying to dissuade their citizens from going by painting a dire portrait of the place.

You know their language, this must be very special and rare, so they were even much more kind for you.
Eating local food well and drink local water also makes them(not only Iran) feel happy but speaking local languages is the most fantastic thing for them and us both. This is like a gem.
