Hello!
I go to Iran the next 3rd November and I want to go to Howraman after my first week here.
The roads are open in this period?Because I want to receive advices about it.
My idea is starting from Kermanshah to Paveh(I come from Shiraz-Shush-Andimeshk),then take a taxi for Marivan travelling by the old panoramic road through the village of Habasawa,Howraman-at-Takht and Kamala.
My trouble is the weather, because I think if is snowing the roads can be closed!
Thank you for your attentions...and sorry for my bad english!
Camillo.

Hi Camillo,
We traveled the same roads last summer (Marivan, Paveh, Kermanshah), so we don't know whether the roads are open in November. However, when the road is open and if you are hiring a taxi, you could consider taking a jeep. When we were there, we took a paykan and it worked our fine but the paykan did have some difficulties to climb up the steep and bumpy roads. So, when it gets slippery you could use more grip.
Before you set off with a car and driver: be sure that the driver understands that you want to take the old road and not the new plastered road that bends off the valley at karala.
You can find our photoimpression and article on the howraman valley on this page:

Have fun!
