Hi everyone one! :-)

I'm currently trying to get a visa for Iran, ive been looking on the London embassy for Iran website and the requirements for the Visa are not very clear.

Has anyone been through this process before? I am a UK citizen.

Ive tried calling the embassy on 020 7937 5225 but there is constantly no answer, has anyone contacted them before?

Ive been planning a trip on a train from london to Kyrgyzstan which involves traveling through Iran. I already have my Uzbekistan visa and i now need my Iran visa to get my Turkmenistan visa.

If there is anyone out the who can help me at all, any little or massive help will be very appreciated.

Thanks all :-)

Hi Gerard,
This has been discussed on LP forum before, and certainly your are correct the MFA and Iran embassies are ambiguous and not overly reachable. Here is a lot of information with links to Official MFA website.
https://www.sfiran.com/travel/iran-travel-advice/iran-entry-requirements-iran-visas
But specifically with Brits, my Persian wife looked it up on the government websites and there is no specific requirement for UK Citizens to have guides (where it's specifically written for Americans). I cycled with this guy (from the lakes district) in 2012 into Iran http://jamesdesmond.com/ - and he crossed Iran just fine. He got his Iran visa from Tabzon in Turkey, which is probably the easiest place to it. But the laws frequently change and the Iran public sector is quite unreliable and unorganized. I currently work at a travel agency (Asia 2000) recommended by Lonely Planet for Tehran. If you like I can put you onto the visa dept and get you the MFA code, which you must have to apply for the visa. Otherwise these guys across the road from us have about 5 floors dedicated just for visas (incoming and outgoing): www.aitotours.com/

To 1: Could you give a link to any of these government websites, I think there are a lot of people out here hoping it's true that the guide requirement has been dropped, and further evidence would be very welcome (even if in Farsi).

Hi bradrimm,

Thanks for all your information.

How much would it cost to get the MFA code with your company and how long the code last for before we apply for the visa?

Would you happen to know if the MFA code will be sufficient evidence for a visa when applying for another visa for a different country?
