Hi,
I'm planing to visit Iran next April. I want to leave Iran after about 30 days (the usual period for the tourist visa) and take the ferry to U.A.E. and Oman. After a month or so, I want/have to go back to Iran and continue to Turkmenistan (I'm aware of the current problems with the border written on caravanistan). Background information: Flying and VOA is not an option, because I'll do this with my own car.
The big question is (and it surprises me, that no one had asked that question before - I read 9 months / 30 pages here on thorntree):
Do they issue a new code just after the old tourist visa had expired? Or is there a minimum "stay-off-time" of Iran? I wasn't able to find any informations about that.
My idea would be to apply for the new code while in Dubai, go to Oman and on the way back collect the visa in Dubai.

Only if they don't like you. You won't have a problem. You could also probably apply for a new authorisation code while still inside Iran, as long as it's clear that you'll apply for the next visa from outside the country. Find a reputable visa support agency (or even two reputable agencies) and discuss it with the people there.
